One of the great strengths of our parish is the way each of our congregations is able to get on with its job of proclaiming Jesus, growing disciples and serving together, while at the same time we benefit from being part of a wider fel lowship and partnership across all our congregations. However, as we have grown it has become harder and harder to meet together as a whole parish to express that partnership in a tangible way. This year we are going to do that in a different way by coming together for one Sunday evening at Church in the Bank in what we are calling our ‘Celebration service’.
This is how it will work. On Sunday 26 April (Bexley, Bexley North, Church in the Bank) and Sunday 3 May (Carlton 9am & 1030am) Phil will speak at all of our congregations about our Vision as a church. Then, in addition, our hope is that every member of our church will come together for a special celebration service at Church in the Bank on Sunday 3 May. At that service we will hear from many different people across the parish about how God has been at work, as well as hearing from God’s word together about how we can be involved in God’s work in our area. Please plan now so that you are able to be there.
Key Questions about the celebration service:
When? Sunday 3 May from 6pm-8pm
Where? At Church in the Bank (St George Bank Auditorium, Montgomery Street, Kogarah)
What about kids? There will be no kid’s programme as such. However, it is hoped that families with older kids will want to come along together. For those with younger children it may be that only one parent is able to attend.
