Moore PTC in 2026

The Moore College Preliminary Theological Certificate (PTC) is a great way to grow in your knowledge of God and the Bible.

We strongly recommend that everyone starts with Introduction to the Bible. This unit will help you see how the Bible fits together as a whole with it’s central focus on the person and work of Jesus. This unit provides an important foundation for the other PTC units. If you have already completed Introduction to the Bible, you may like to sign up for one of the other units in the PTC.

For more information on the PTC, please see the Moore College website – moore.edu.au/course/ptc.

For more information on how PTC will be run at SNAC, please contact Kevin Stepniewski (kevin@snac.org.au) or Josh Hesford (josh@snac.org.au).

Introduction to the Bible

Introduction to the Bible helps you see how the whole Bible fits together as one story. It traces the big themes of the Bible across both the Old and New Testaments, showing how God’s plan to redeem his people finds its centre and fulfilment in Jesus.

This is the best course to do first and is strongly recommended for anyone who has not yet completed a PTC unit.

Other units available

We are planning to offer New Testament 1 and Doctrine 1 as below. We may change the units offered depending on the level of interest.

New Testament 1: Mark’s Gospel

New Testament 1 works through Mark’s Gospel and focuses on two big questions: Who is Jesus? And what did Jesus come to do? This course helps you understand Jesus’ identity and mission in light of the Old Testament promises about the Messiah.

Doctrine 1: Knowledge of God

Doctrine 1 explores what we can know about God from what he has revealed in Scripture. It includes topics such as the authority of the Bible, God’s sovereignty, the Trinity, repentance, salvation and judgement.

Should I take the exam?

You can choose whether you take each unit formally (includes exam) or informally (no exam).

Our encouragement would be to take the exam. This means each unit will count towards the Level One award (6 units), Level two (an additional 6 units) and the Level Three award (an additional 6 units). Taking the exam will also help you consolidate the things you have learnt. Exams are completed online and consist of 60 multiple choice questions.

However, it’s totally fine to complete the unit informally which means you don’t need to take the exam.
